Dr. J.P. London Annual Cause Gala Benefit, 11/11/07
Proven Industry Performance.

Thank you, Barbara, for your kind words and introduction. We are honored to be here tonight... esteemed flag officers, dignitaries and honored representatives of the U.S. government, personnel of the U.S. armed forces, sponsors, patrons and benefactors.

Friends and colleagues, ladies and gentlemen, good evening to all. And what a lovely evening it is. Thank you for coming here tonight, and for your steadfast support of this remarkable organization known as Cause.

I want to start by paying tribute to Barbara Lau and her many fine associates who have - through Cause - brought so much fine service and goodwill to our wounded military people returning from the war zone - here to Walter Reed and the local area. They are on a noble mission and we thank them all for it. And we, at CACI, were so very proud that we were at the beginning and that we have been able to provide some meaningful support with our efforts and our resources.

I want to add my thanks to all of you who have responded to our call for support. There are hundreds of you and I am thankful for all of your support and your funds.

On this Veterans Day 2007, I also want to express my deep sense of appreciation for all of those who have gone before us in uniform, to stand up when called, in the defense of our freedoms. And then, too, to our servicemen and women of today, who serve and go forth around the globe, in war zones and hostile places, who stand up today in defense of our freedoms, our way of life and our just cause. God bless and protect them all.

And for their mission, I pray they will prevail and in all ways achieve their noble mission's goals. They deserve our full support and total commitment to their success.

All of this, today, is very real for me and my family. Tonight my son-in-law is on duty in Afghanistan - called up to serve 365 days "boots-on-the-ground." My daughter has two toddlers under three years old. And my wife's godson and nephew, a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army, gave up his life in an IED attack in Mosul, Iraq in May 2005. He was medivac'd but died at Landstuhl, Germany.

Cause is important to me and my family because it's the "right thing to do."

God bless you all - and God bless the USA!
